Privacy notice
Draft last updated 4 November 2026
VercentDine provides software that restaurants use to take orders, run their kitchen and collect payments. This notice explains what personal data the VercentDine service handles and why.
Who is responsible
For guest orders, the restaurant you are dining at decides how your data is used, and VercentDine processes it on the restaurant's behalf. For restaurant staff accounts and VercentDine subscriptions, VercentDine is responsible. [Legal entity name, address and grievance officer contact to be added.]
What we collect
- Guests: what you order, table number, service requests, and optional feedback. Guests do not need an account. For delivery orders, the name, phone number and address you give the restaurant.
- Restaurant staff: name, email, role, login activity (time, device type), and actions taken in the app (audit log).
- Payments: the payment provider (Razorpay) processes card and UPI details. VercentDine stores the payment reference and amount, never full card numbers.
Why we use it
- To send your order to the kitchen and staff, produce bills and receipts, and record payments.
- To keep accounts secure (sign-in, two-step verification, fraud and abuse prevention).
- To meet legal obligations such as tax record keeping.
Visits to our website
To see which pages help people try VercentDine, our own server counts anonymous visits: the page, the website that linked to us (its name only), any campaign tags in the link, and whether you use a phone, tablet or computer. Your browser keeps a random number so repeat visits count once. We don't use cookies for this, don't record your IP address, and don't share these counts with anyone. They are deleted after 90 days. If your browser sends "Do Not Track", nothing is counted.
How long we keep it
Each restaurant sets how long guest contact details are kept (by default 365 days). After that they are cleared automatically. Bills and payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires. Session and security logs are kept for a limited time.
Who we share it with
Hosting and storage providers, the email delivery provider, and the payment provider, only as needed to run the service. We do not sell personal data.
Your choices and rights
You can ask the restaurant, or VercentDine for staff accounts, to access, correct or delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements. [Rights and process under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules to be confirmed by counsel.]
